... and we're going to do all of this in English!

Let me show you 3 interesting facts about the English language in the text above:

• We will is FUTURE and we can shorten it to we'll (pronounced like 'will')
  • e.g. WE'LL meet you tomorrow on the top of Mount Everest, okay?
• Listen ALWAYS takes the preposition to! Think of it as one word: listento.
  • e.g. I like to LISTEN TO heavy metal music.
• The word non-judgemental can be broken down to small parts:
  • non- is negation
  • a judge is the person who can send you to prison if you did something illegal
  • -ment is a suffix that changes a verb into a noun
  • -al is a suffix too and it changes the noun into an adjective
  • TOTAL: non-judge-ment-al – it will be easier to remember it if you understand the structure.

There are so many ways we can PLAY AROUND with the English language – instead of just doing boring memorising! Languages are full of surprises and interesting facts. We just have to look at it through a child's eye, with a beginner's mind and CURIOSITY!
